Milk tea is the drink that defines the boba experience — and the quality comes down almost entirely to the tea. Most boba shops use cheap black tea powder or over-steeped bags. We use premium loose-leaf Earl Grey, steeped for exactly 5 minutes in water just off the boil. The bergamot in Earl Grey adds a floral, citrusy note that makes the milk tea more complex than a generic black tea base.
Our milk mix is whole milk combined with a small amount of condensed milk — the condensed milk adds sweetness and a slight creaminess that makes the blend feel richer than plain milk.
